Privacy Policy

TechFoundry Inc. runs this website. This page describes what the site collects, why, and who sees it. It is written to match what the site actually does rather than to cover every eventuality.
What we collect, and when
Nothing until you send us something. Reading the site collects no personal information. There is no tag manager, no advertising pixel and no third party font service. We do measure traffic, which is described below.
We collect information in three situations.
1. You send a project brief or request a quote
The project brief form asks for your name, work email and, optionally, your company, along with what you want built, the systems involved, your timeline and an indicative budget. The quote form asks for your name, work email and an optional note, along with the parts and quantities you selected.
We use it to answer you. It is stored in a private inbox inside this website’s WordPress installation, readable only by TechFoundry administrators who are signed in. It is not sent to a CRM, a mailing list or a marketing platform, because we do not use any.
You tick a box confirming we may store the enquiry and reply to it. We record the moment you ticked it.
2. You comment on an article
Comments are handled by WordPress, which stores the name, email and IP address you submit with them, so that we can moderate them. Your comment and the name you give it are public.
3. You like an article
A small cookie named tf_article_visitor remembers that a like came from your browser, so the count is not inflated by one person clicking repeatedly. It holds a random identifier, not a name, and lasts a year. Removing it loses nothing but your ability to un-like.
Measuring traffic
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and which routes bring people to us. It records the page you are on, roughly where in the world you are, and what kind of device and browser you use, and it sets cookies to recognise a returning browser across a visit.
Your IP address is truncated before it is stored, so it does not identify a household. We have not enabled advertising features, remarketing or the sharing of this data with Google’s advertising products, so it is not used to target advertisements at you.
Nothing is measured unless you accept. The first time you arrive we ask, and no analytics cookie is set and no request reaches Google until you say yes. If you decline, none of it loads at all. You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie choice link in the footer of every page.
Google acts as our processor for this and holds the data on its own infrastructure. You can opt out of Google Analytics entirely, on every site that uses it, with Google’s browser add on, or by using your browser’s Do Not Track and cookie controls.
How we are told a lead has arrived
When a brief or a quote arrives, a notification is posted to a private Microsoft Teams channel and, optionally, emailed to a TechFoundry address. That notification deliberately contains no personal information. It carries a reference number, what kind of enquiry it is, and a link that opens the record for a signed in administrator. Your name, email and message stay inside WordPress.
Knowing where an enquiry came from
When you first arrive, the site records in your browser’s session storage which page you landed on, which site referred you, and any campaign tags in the link you followed. Those three things travel with your enquiry so we know which part of our own site or which campaign brought you to us.
This is not a cookie, it is not shared with anyone, it never identifies you, and it is discarded when you close the tab.
Booking a call
“Book a call” opens Calendly inside a panel on our site. Calendly is a third party and its own privacy policy applies to what you enter there. Nothing is sent to Calendly until you open that panel; the panel stays empty until then.
Where it is kept, and for how long
The site and its database are hosted by Hostinger. Enquiries are kept while they are commercially useful and are deleted when they are not. Comments remain until you or we remove them.
Who else sees it
Nobody. We do not sell, rent or share personal information. The only third parties involved are the hosting provider that runs the server, Google for the traffic measurement described above, Microsoft for the internal Teams notification, and Calendly if you choose to book a call.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to zahid@techfoundry.io and we will respond. If you are in Canada or the European Union you have these rights in law, under PIPEDA and the GDPR respectively; we apply them to everyone regardless of where you are.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. Material changes to how we handle enquiries already sent to us will be told to the people affected.
